Gem hunters know that the Big Bend region is a treasure trove of gems, such as the town of Terlingua in South Brewster County. This ghost town was once a prosperous mining town at the turn of the 20th century. Today, Amber, the golden resin left by prehistoric plants, is still collected along Terlingua Creek. This collection combines golden amber chips, oval turquoise beads, sterling silver beads, toggles and earring wires to highlight this Big Bend treasure.
